PROJECTS > Institutional > Government Headquarters Complex

A new headquarters building has been proposed for a government ministry and federal department in Putrajaya. Located in Precinct 4, near several government ministries’ existing headquarters buildings, the headquarters building is poised to become another architectural landmark in this administrative capital city.

The site is easily accessible via the main thoroughfare and connected via the Seri Gemilang Bridge on the southern side over the artificial lake of Putrajaya. The site of the proposed headquarters complex is located adjacent to one another, facing the majestic lake view, thus leveraging this favourable element into the design proposal.

The building design is inspired by the federal department logo itself, the five horizontal aqueous lines, that resembles its primary functions as the federal irrigation and drainage department. Taking cue from this logo, the curvy form has moulded the basic massing into two blocks.

The two massing blocks are then broken into terraces to provide openings and outdoor spaces. A series of connecting bridges is proposed in this building to encourage the interaction of building occupants and inculcate circulation. To mirror the water effects, the building façade is finished with glazing glass and bluish cladding material.
