Wisma Perwira is a full-board army mess for higher-ranking military personnel of the Malaysian Armed Forces. Located strategically in the heart of Kem Kementah (Ministry of Defence Camp), the site proffered an ideal vantage point, profiteered from its highest elevation point of the camp.

Taking advantage of its prime location, the building has been positioned as such to maximise the view of the stunning Kuala Lumpur skyline including the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. The project brief called for a redefinition of an army mess which was to be developed with a hotel concept. It aimed to provide the military personnel with a comfortable lodging complete with in-house facilities akin to a luxury hotel.

The two-storey podium houses most of the facilities which include a porte-cochere, double-volume lobby and lounge, swimming pool, gym, clubhouse, cafeteria, meeting & seminar rooms, administrative office, as well as a sizeable ballroom complete with a full-fledged kitchen. Designed with a separate grand entrance with a flexible internal layout for various events, the ballroom can accommodate up to 1,000 people and is accessible to the general public. It has now become a popular and trendy event space which generates income for Wisma Perwira.

The two 12-storey blocks with a connecting bridge at level ten accommodate 252 units of officers’ rooms, 44 units of senior officers’ rooms and another 12 units of senior officers’ suites. Additionally, there are two units of VIP suites and a royal suite. Natural light is aplenty as all rooms feature floor to ceiling windows which adds to its internal ambience.
