Bukit Jalil City is a burgeoning integrated development located in the southern outskirt of Kuala Lumpur. This 60-acre mixed-development comprises commercial and residential components, including the signature shop office. The signature shop office is the road-fronting shop lots that shall complement a future regional shopping mall and various serviced apartments of the development.
The shop lot design that features the half-covered walkway and higher visibility of commercial establishment have been an integral part of Malaysian urban fabrics for many years. As such, the signature shop office gives a new interpretation of this local urban tradition with the contemporary look and finishes. Consisting of 112 units of retail offices, the design is intended to maximise opportunities for communal and commercial activities spilling over from the neighbouring developments.
Emphasis has been given to the pedestrians in the design planning, with a central boulevard designed to be closed off for pedestrians during special events. The front side walkway is also linked to a central green area that acts as a pocket garden located between the shop office blocks. A line of trees and plants can also be found at the rear of the retail office bordering the Pavilion mall area.
The full-height glazed window and aluminium of the retail office give a crisp look of the facade design, paired with the glass skylight that gives shading to the pedestrian walkway. The rectangular composition and vertical lines give an orderly look of the signature shop office, that allows for proper placement of business signages.
