As one of the leading private tertiary institutions in Malaysia, the UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College has moved a step further by establishing its new campus building. As the existing campus building in George Town is no longer capable to accommodate the growing student populace, a new campus ground has been planned in the new township of Bandar Cassia in Batu Kawan on the mainland of Penang.

Designed as a green campus, the new UOW Malaysia KDU Penang campus building will be part and parcel of the new Utropolis Penang development. Set on the east parcel of  17.86 hectares of Utropolis Penang, the campus blocks will accommodate up to 5,000 students in the two development phases of the campus.

The first phase that comprises three blocks aims to create a sense of openness based on the live-and-learn with the work-and-play concept for an urban campus lifestyle. The campus blocks contain a two-storey library, cafeteria, computer labs and gaming labs, as well as classrooms and administrative office. Envisaged as a university in the park, the campus ground is surrounded by green hardscapes spaces that form by The Piazza, The Plaza and Park Avenue.

The outdoor plaza connects the public space with the main drop off and the covered pedestrian walkway to the Utropolis mixed-development. Surrounded by the plentiful green area, a water concourse near the cafeteria further cooling off the campus ground. In the campus blocks, a pocket of green area, called Park Windows will create a collaborative nucleus space for the learning clusters.
