PROJECTS > Institutional > Pagoh Education Hub

In 2011, Sime Darby Property commenced the development of Bandar Universiti Pagoh – a 1675.8 hectare site in Pagoh, Johor. Slated to be the nation’s first university township, it is poised to be a world-class education hub with quality residential offerings, vibrant retail options and progressive business environment.

Located just off the Pagoh Toll Plaza, the development is easily accessible via the North-South Expressway (NSE). A future station of High-Speed Rail between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore has been earmarked in this development as the Muar station. Encompassing new residential and commercial areas, the first phase of the development known as the Pagoh Education Hub, is where the four tertiary institutions are located, namely the International Islamic University Malaysia (UIAM), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) and Politeknik Tun Syed Nasir.

Accommodating for an estimated 20,000 student population, the Pagoh Education Hub has been projected to be the development catalyst that will be fully completed within the timeline of up to 20 years. NRY Architects has been tasked with the design and construction of UIAM Pagoh branch campus and the UTM research campus.

As a dedicated university town, central and shared facilities are also built to serve the students from every university campus. These facilities include lecture and convention halls, library, surau, guest house and recreational amenities located centrally in the development. The campus buildings of UIAM and UTM feature modern institutional design and fast construction with the underlying corporate image of each university.
