Pentahotels, an international hotel chain of neighbourhood lifestyle hotels based in Germany has selected Kuala Lumpur as among its few hotel locations in Asia. The four-star hotel chain is well-known for its Pentalounge – a combination of lounge, bar, café and reception – that stands out with its ‘living room’ look and feel.
In collaboration with Stylom Sdn. Bhd., the hotel is located in the mixed development of Bukit Jalil City, which will serve the immediate population and southern corridor of Kuala Lumpur. As home to the nation’s premier sports and MICE destination, Bukit Jalil is also home to the ICT and technology hub and the upcoming lifestyle regional mall of Pavilion, thus constituting future hotel guests.
Comprising 278 rooms of standard king and twin room types, the 15-storey hotel is targeted for leisure, business, and residential guests. Other than its famous Pentalouge, a Penta Café, as well as meeting & events rooms, and fitness and wellness area will be also be provided for the hotel guests. Other services and building equipment spaces will be allocated on the ground floor and other accessible locations across the hotel.
To be positioned as a lifestyle business hotel, the building design advocates open floor design with full height window walls in most floor areas. To add vibrancy into the design, several orange vertical fins are applied across its façade design. The grey panelling and cladding walls are employed together with the glass windows and walls, thus highlighting the internal public space of the hotel, especially during the nighttime.
