PROJECTS > Mixed-use > Royal Elm Park

The Royal Elm Park project is a development at A33 Reading-Basingstoke Road, the primary route to Reading. A collaborative project with planning consultant Barton Willmore, the master plan outlines a high quality, sustainable mixed-use development on a 25-acre parcel of land surrounding the existing Madejski Stadium.

The proposed development features a residential accommodation comprising predominantly apartments with a proportion of serviced apartments and leisure facilities including an ice rink, arena and a convention centre with an expected capacity of 3,000 delegates. Other supporting facilities include a hotel with an initial capacity of 200 rooms, decked car park (750 spaces) and ancillary retail uses, including Class A3 (food and drink), fast food and convenience store outlets.

Designed to align with the broader regeneration ambitions for this part of Reading, it includes the delivery of much needed new leisure facilities; while complementing the development of Central Reading as the leading regional centre; and foremost shopping destination in the Thames Valley.
