The Light Waterfront is among a handful of integrated waterfront developments in the city-state popularly known as the Pearl of the Orient Island. Situated on a plot of reclaimed land in Gelugor, en route to the George Town downtown area, the proposed site is a part of the three phases of mixed development by a reputable developer consortium.

The site area of 8.88 acres is strategically situated on Lebuhraya Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu and is easily connected from the Penang Bridge and other parts of the city. The surrounding context is a burgeoning township with commercial offerings located adjacent to the site.

Constituted of three main components, i.e. residential, commercial and recreational, the integrated development will serve and meet the needs of urban residents to live, work and play. To be developed into two phases, the three blocks of residential towers are positioned facing the access road and rising above the four-storey podium comprises retail, parking, and recreational facilities.

Profiteering the panoramic sea view of the Penang Strait, the retail units have been planned and designed maximising the seafront with its staggered layout and the full-height glass façade. Plenty of entry points are provided on-site, including two plaza entrances from the seafront, thus giving a grandeur and gradual entry with a broad staircase and proposed escalators. The generic modern façade outlook embellishes a vibrant and permeable design and will further add to the Penang’s splendid and robust city skyline.
