Launching of the new AM Magazine
Representatives from NRY Architects were invited to the official launching event of the new AM Magazine by PAM (Malaysian Institute of Architects) held recently at the President’s Hall, PAM Centre in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. The event also marks the 50th anniversary of the official PAM magazine that was first published in January 1971.
As explained by Ar. Ang Chee Cheong, Director of AM Magazine cum former editor, through his opening remarks, the new AM Magazine has had its evolution for the past half-century as transpired via its magazine cover design, typography and pagination, layout design and size, and the integral component of the magazine, the variety of contents and featured projects.
The new AM Magazine takes its new leaf and chapter under the full editorial purview by the PAM Media & Publication Committee through the appointed editorial members, including the new magazine editor, Lina Esa, who will helm the magazine, bringing new flavour and direction to this Malaysia’s very own architectural magazine.
12 projects were selected to be featured in the first volume of this revamped magazine, including NRY Architects’ signature hybrid mall project in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, the Aurora Place and SOVO. The magazine is now available at major bookstores and newsagents for the price of RM 25 each copy. Published quarterly, the AM Magazine is the leading and oldest, probably the only professional architectural magazine published in Malaysia, often touted as the official publication of PAM.
