NRY Architects partakes in the UIAM second year Architecture students’ assessment
As part of our CSR activities in giving back to the community, our diligent architects were once again involved in the architecture students’ design critique session. Held at the Architecture Studio, Kulliyyah (Faculty) of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED), the International Islamic University Malaysia (UIAM) in Gombak, Selangor, on last 3rd August 2020 (Monday), the critique session was the final assessment of the second year students of BSc. Arch. (Part 1).
NRY Architects was represented by Ar. Aida and Mr. Muhammad Hazim, where they had a chance of witnessing the students’ hard work and creativity in designing a fisherman village tourist centre in Kuantan, Pahang. As part of the programme curriculum, the student had to produce their design manually, thus harnessing their hand-drawing and sketching skills.
The crit session has involved around 50 students with several external assessors from the industry. The final assessment is the most vital stage in determining the students’ score and achievement of their studio-based course for that particular semester.
Other than the individual project, the students were also tasked with a group-based site analysis studies of the proposed project site. The site analysis is paramount to any project designing, be it theoretically or practically, as the findings will be useful in formulating the best and feasible design approach.
We wish all the best and full colours to the UIAM second year Architecture student in their design studio subject and other courses ahead.
