Our first gathering of the year 2022! The NRY Architects Buka Puasa Gathering 2022 is back after two years. It was successfully held on the last 21 April 2022 at the Fairfield by Marriott KL. The event marks the first activity of the year by the NRY CREWS, the official staff sports and recreation club.

The annual tradition of buka puasa or iftar gathering is very much awaited by all staff, especially the Muslim staff members, as Ramadan is the holy month of Islam, where fasting and other Islamic ibadahs or rituals are practised by millions of Muslims around the world. While for NRY Architects, the last buka puasa event was organised in 2017 in a hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Around 90 people attended the gathering at Lesung Restaurant on Level 2. As early as 6.30 pm, some staff have already arrived and patiently waiting for dinner time to begin, concurring with the fast breaking time. As soon as the Maghrib call of prayer was announced, everyone was enjoying the Malay traditional delicacies, together with some Western, Japanese and Asian fusion cuisines, that was served in the buffet serving area.

The best dress contest was held for both male and female categories to cheer up the festive mood. Almost everyone dons their very best traditional attire to enliven the Raya mood. Four people were shortlisted by the NRY CREWS committee members and they were called up to the front to do a ‘mini catwalk’. And the best dress winners go to Kak Ani for the female category and Taqiuddin for the male category.

The event concluded with a group photo session. Nevertheless, some people stayed put until its closure time at 10 pm, while some people also attended the Tarawih prayers held at the hotel surau located on level 14. The event was deemed as successful as the staff members were looking forward to participating in many other activities of NRY CREWS in the future.
