Study on Augmented Reality and BIM Consultancy Services by NRY Architects

December 14, 2021 Activities, Announcement 0

The advent application of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and other technology applications in the construction industry has continued to entice more researchers and students to study its advantages and possible future technological exploration and adoption.

Two students from the Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) have recently engaged our Head of BIM, Ts. Muhammad Hazim Azami on their related BIM and construction technology studies. Done virtually over the Google Meet platform, a student by the name of Arianna Harissa has studied the use of Augmented Reality (AR) technology.

AR is an advanced technology that enables the superimposition of computer-generated images over an existing, real-world view. In the construction industry, AR is commonly leveraged by architects or contractors for coordination works on site, as it helps to visualize the required elements and finishes. Though it may not be adopted by NRY Architects at the moment, the technology has been identified as among the must-have tools for construction personnel.

While another study was pertinent to BIM, on NRY Architecs’ experience in adopting and managing the tool, while meeting the project outcomes and expectations of the stakeholders. This study was conducted by a Technology Management (Construction) student from UTHM, Iffah Syahirah.

From the BIM Department of NRY Architects, we would welcome any invitation for any BIM-related study/talk/seminar for keen students or any concerning parties. For more info, kindly email your interest to enquiry@nrasb.com.my.
