Zak World of Façades Conference 2022 Features NRY Architects

The world’s leading architectural conference on facade design and engineering, the Zak World of Façades is back in Malaysia after the last 46th edition in 2018. The 96th edition conference, held on 25th August 2022 at St Regis Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, featured more than 30 speakers, including NRY Architects’ very own representative.

The first Panel Discussion of the day during Session 2

Our Head of Design, Mrs. Suzana Yazid, was invited and given an opportunity to share her insights during one of the sessions during the afternoon that talked about the Influence of Design on the Performance of Building Envelopes. She was joined by other panellists from KIRK AUD, SP Setia, Veritas Architects and Façade Network, which was moderated by Hans Weemaes from Turner & Townsend.

Mrs Suzana shares her input about the topic

During the session, Suzana expresses her views on how the design brief and guidelines give much impetus to the overall facade design, with various matrices in determining and formulating effective facade design solutions. She also further elaborates on the efficient passive design strategies that will eventually help the building in the long run, with an adept application of the latest technology and innovations.

Suzana later concluded that the net-zero carbon movements by local authorities are commendable, but more concerted efforts need to be thoroughly enforced. The one-day seminar also features a slew of product supplier booths that are the strategic partners of the Zak World of Façades Conference. The next edition will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, before returning to South East Asia, specifically in Hanoi, Vietnam, around November 2022. For more info about the conference, visit
